International Milestones (UN, OECD, EU)

1. UN - Milestones in Sustainable Development
The United Nations with its 191 member states is the principal initiator and driver of Sustainable Development. The conventions concluded under its patronage provide a general framework for sustainable development activities. The United Nations NGO Committee on Sustainable Development actively follows this international development process, especially in working together with the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD). UNCSD is responsible for monitoring and driving forward the implementation of Agenda 21 and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI), as well as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
